Germany 10 Day: Medieval Charm & Alpine Beauty: Itinerary

Day 1- 4/22/27- Overnight flight to Frankfurt, Germany.

Day 2- 4/23/27- Heidelberg: A Romantic City Experience-  

After being picked up at the Frankfurt airport, your small group tour will head to Heidelberg, one of the highlights of our Germany tour itinerary. Experience the quintessential romance of Germany in Heidelberg, where picturesque hills, a winding river, and magnificent castle ruins await. 

Stroll along the cobblestone streets of the Old Town (Altstadt) and explore the imposing red-brick Heidelberg Castle (via funicular) nestled high above the Neckar River. Finish your late afternoon by crossing the Old Bridge and touching the famous "Bridge Monkey," a bronze statue believed to bring good fortune. This will be followed by a welcome reception on the Neckar River and a guided city tour. In the evening, savor a self-paid dinner that offers a true taste of Germany in an authentic local restaurant, complete with complimentary wine or beer and appetizers during our "Welcome Reception" before traveling onward to Speyer, where you'll enjoy a welcomed overnight rest.

Day 3- 4/24/27- Speyer: A Historic German Journey.

Today, we will delve into one of Germany's most historically significant cities, where a magnificent Romanesque cathedral truly dominates the skyline.

Stand in awe before the UNESCO World Heritage site, Speyer Cathedral, the world’s largest Romanesque church and the burial site of German emperors for over 300 years. Take some time to explore the crypt and admire the artistry of this millennium-old masterpiece.

Day 4- 4/25/27- Rothenburg: The Postcard Medieval Walled City!

Mid-morning, we will journey to the enchanting medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Immerse yourself in a half-day journey through the historic old town, stepping back in time. As night falls, you can opt to join the famous Night Watchman Tour, a captivating experience unveiling the town's secrets under the cloak of darkness. After an unforgettable evening, enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Rothenburg.

Day 5- 4/26/27- A Tale of Two Cities: Medieval Charm and Bavarian Energy.  

Prepare for a day of captivating contrasts. Start with exploration in the fairytale town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, where you will spend a half-day discovering its romantic squares and ancient city walls. 

After soaking in the medieval magic, we’ll whisk you away to the energetic metropolis of Munich. Enjoy a half-day tour of this dynamic city before checking into your central Old Town hotel for a well-deserved rest. 

For those wanting extra adventure, raise your stein and cap off your evening with an insightful brewery tour and tasting session that showcases Germany's legendary beer scene.

Day 6- 4/27/27- Bavarian Energy!

Immerse yourself in true Bavarian culture, from bustling beer halls to leisurely strolls through lush green parks while discovering the historic charm of Munich.

Experience this morning's daily charm in Munich at Marienplatz, where you can witness the famous Glockenspiel performance before taking a short walk to Viktualienmarkt, tempting your culinary taste buds!

Day 7- 4/28/27- Storybook Fairytale Castle-  

A scenic journey will transport you from Munich to the storybook world of Neuschwanstein Castle, a highlight of your Germany tour itinerary. Celebrate your arrival with a picnic of delicious appetizers set at the foot of this fairy-tale fortress, offering a breathtaking farewell to the Bavarian landscape. Ascend to the majestic Neuschwanstein Castle, and spend the night in beautiful old town Fussen, cherishing the memories of a day spent in this kingdom of dreams.

Day 8- 4/29/27- Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Romantic Road: An Alpine and Medieval German Journey.

Enjoy breathtaking views surrounded by towering peaks in the Bavarian Alps as we explore stunning Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Day 9- 4/30/27- Rhine River: The Legend-filled River-  

We will sail through a picturesque river valley dotted with storybook villages, vineyards, and medieval castles on a scenic two-hour-plus river cruise through the UNESCO-listed Upper Middle Rhine Valley. This is the heart of the "Romantic Rhine," where dozens of ancient castles and ruins, each carrying its unique story and history, await.
