Our spectacular tour will take place in beautiful, picturesque Italy where you will see, taste, explore and experience amazing places, many of which are off the beaten path. Our incredible tour will begin in the fashion capital Milan and then end in ancient, historical Rome.
Here is a Glimpse of our Wonderful Itinerary:
We will venture through La Spezia, and stop into the incredible port town of Portovenere, where we might catch a relaxing boat ride cruise to see the amazing, colorful village set along the seashore, should you choose to partake.
San Gimignano is our wonderful spot to see ancient culture- up front and personal. Tour the Convent of Santa Chiara, The Basilica of San Francesco and learn about the life of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. Enjoy a local wine tasting in a local town's winery.
The tour will lead us to Siena; one of the most famous, beautiful towns in Tuscany. Visit the Piazza del Campo, the Duomo de Siena, the Palazzo Publico and the Basilica di San Domenico. Markus (our very own professional guide) will lead us into the wonderful highlights of this beautiful, quaint town.
Also on the tour is a lovely stop at Monteriggioni. This small, walled hamlet, on top of a majestic hillside provides some terrific panoramic views of the typical Tuscan landscape! Don’t forget this will allow us another chance to stop and enjoy a local, lovely wine from this region of Italy.
We will soon explore beautiful Florence – Visit the Accademia Gallery to see Michaelangelo’s David, the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio and Piazzale Michelangelo.
On our small group tour is, of course, a visit to see the amazing Leaning Tower of Pisa (don’t forget your camera). If you wish, you may climb the incredible 294 spiral steps to admire the picturesque, panoramic views. But be aware of getting dizzy walking round and round up and then down these daunting stairs! The loveliest spot is at the top- where spectacular pictures of the area can be captured! Next you will enjoy time on your own, to walk the city´s streets, seeing highlights at the cathedral square. We will see the Duomo, Baptistery and Campo Santo.
We will then tour Lucca, a typical, quiet, Tuscan village, surrounded by an antique town wall. (Some of us may consider renting bikes and riding on top of the town wall all around the old town center- this will be quite fun!).
We won't miss a couple days to enjoy amazing ancient Rome! We can walk the highlights of this amazing, historical city or jump on a hop-on hop-off bus to see it all in one fell swoop. Don't forget the Vatican, a visit to the Vatican Museum, take a walk through the Sistine Chapel and of course St. Peter’s Basilica.
Our final day will lead us back into ancient Rome, where we will have a farewell dinner together and rest before our final flights home. Then to dream up our next amazing travel adventure with our guides!
